President's Message
Like you, I am fortunate to live and work in Massachusetts. When it comes to healthcare, this state is held up as a model for the rest of the nation. We are often referred to as the healthcare capital, with world class teaching hospitals, specialty care facilities and research capacity.
But everything comes at a price... we also have among the highest healthcare and health insurance costs nationally. With health insurance prices rising at double digit levels, and little if any relief in sight, employers and individuals alike are in a tight spot. Health insurance costs now rank second to payroll for many businesses. Maintaining comprehensive coverage at an affordable cost is becoming more difficult each year.
The fact is that you can't talk about health insurance without talking about health care; they are inextricably linked. You have to understand the health care system as well as the health insurance arena to be able to present the full picture. This knowledge and insight comes from experience. It's this 'up-close and current' understanding of the marketplace that allows us to explain to our clients why things are the way they are.
